Web Content Writers, Beware!

So I’m writing/typing this post one-handed, due to an unforeseen “accident” I recently sustained to my left wrist (thank goodness I’m right handed).

Bruised and broken...NO this did not happen becaused I missed a deadline or forgot to check my sources.

My job at AVID Design is that of a writer, (you may have read some of my work on this blog and on our site at www.aviddesign.com), therefore having my hand(s) and finger(s) fully functioning and in-check is quite important.

While I shall refrain from sparing the details of my “injury” or how it ultimately occurred, I cannot help but provide the following list below of tips for other Web content writers so this “accident” doesn’t happen to you in the workplace.

1.) Don’t miss a deadline…ever, or you may find yourself missing…

2.) Check (and re-check) your sources…thoroughly, unless you want a…

3.) Never misquote…anyone, or you could get…

4.) If the boss wants you to scrap the whole story you’re working on, then do so…please, or your boss might…

5.) Don’t misspell names or attribute an incorrect title to anyone…or else, because you may end up with a…

If other writers follow these five simple steps in the workplace then all should be well…and you should remain unscathed.

***The subject matter suggested in this post is purely for humorous purposes and is of fictitious nature. I did injure my wrist, however it was not work-related or because I failed at any of the suggested tips noted above.  Working at AVID Design will cause no harm to your health or body parts! Guaranteed!

Oh, the Chaos of the Holiday Season at AVID Design

It’s that time of year again, folks—time for our festive interactive Christmas card to grace its beloved presence for your eyes to feast upon.

This year, we thought delivering a simple holiday message to our clients, colleagues and friends would be the best way to go….while we scrambled to get this video together, we got a little mixed up doing so.

Check out what we came up with this year.

Our 2010 interactive Christmas card was filmed in our very own state-of-the-art video production studio and features a video archive section to view our interactive Christmas cards of the past, as well as an interactive scrabble-type word game that lets you create your own messages and send back.

For more holiday fun visit our YouTube channel and view our interactive Christmas cards from the past.

Herry Christmas and Mappy Holidays to all!

AVID Design – Sounds of Christmas (2009)

Perhaps our most and humorous interactive Christmas card yet, in 2009 we decided to spoof those cheesy Time Life music compilation infomercials that come on PBS late at night.

Watch as AVID Design employees act, lip-sync and sing all those beloved holiday hits…

The outtakes are just as awesome…

Be sure to check back tomorrow for this year’s interactive Christmas card….it’s C h A o T i C !

AVID Design – “The Office” Christmas (2008)

After our musical debut of 2007, the team decided to step up the creativity and production value of our interactive Christmas video/card.

This year, we wanted to give our clients, colleagues and friends a tour of our office and let them meet some of the employees that work here…

Since this production had a lot of outtakes, we decided to share them as well…

Check back tomorrow to see what we did last year for our interactive Christmas card.
